Our Design and Build team created a modern, functional home for a busy family of five in Palos Verdes. They wanted an open space concept throughout, bright neutral colors, and plenty of room for comfortable lounging. This project was a whole home remodel, which means that we modified this home from floor to ceiling. We installed new hardwood floors throughout, rebuilt the entire kitchen, and updated lighting.
Upon entering the home, the first thing you see is the staircase. We installed new treads, repainted the newel posts, and stripped the banister, staining it grey.
Perhaps the star of the house is the kitchen! We installed a Carrara marble-topped island with beautiful leg and side details. Underneath the island, we installed a beverage fridge for easy access for the kids. The tile backsplash, by Walker Zanger, looks clean and simple. New cabinets were built, stainless steel appliances installed, and eye-catching new light fixtures were hung right above the island.
In the living room, we reconditioned the current beams and decreased their size. We retextured the wall surface for a more smooth and updated feel. Above the fireplace, a mantel was installed to correspond with the floor.
The master bathroom features Calacatta marble countertops that tie in with the subway tiles around the bathtub and in the shower. A new awning window in the shower was created to give a seamless view of the ocean. To finish things off, new lighting fixtures were installed, and cabinets were updated.
