Make a Fresh Start with Pantone’s Color of the year – Greenery

World-renowned color authority, Pantone selects its color of the year every December. Many anxiously await this announcement as their choice is a direct reflection of what has been seen happening around the globe both socially, economically, and this year, politically. Here in the United States, the Presidential race created quite a tumultuous environment for most of the year. It is with those things in mind that the experts at Pantone selected Greenery, a bright and zesty yellow-green hue.

In nature, the color green represents rebirth and renewal. Greenery was chosen to invoke reassurance and to promote a sense of much-needed rejuvenation. It can be seen around the world in foliage and ground coverings; it’s nature’s neutral and can work the same way in our homes or fashion. Leafy greens compliment red, orange, yellow and blue making it versatile and easy to incorporate into your decor.

The process of crowning Pantone’s color of the year takes nearly nine months. A team of experts travels the globe looking for inspiration in a variety of industries from automotive, art and fashion, ultimately searching for a shade that is having an impact in all areas. This year, Greenery was that color.

What do you think Greenery? Do you prefer it to last year’s Serenity Blue and Rose Quartz? We think the selection was a perfect choice to encourage a sense of renewal that nearly everyone is in search of at the start of a new year. And in that spirit, we’d like to wish each of you a Happy New Year and a fresh and fabulous 2017!
